The best part about creating a man cave is that it's your personal space to decorate-you can do what you want with it. So if you're forbidden from displaying your autographed Brett Favre jersey in your redesigned blue-and-brown bedroom, you can proudly flaunt it in your man cave. A big-screen TV is a man cave must-have, as are comfy chairs and recliners, a wet bar, and games such as a pool table and dartboard. Home theater seating is an essential for the movie lover.
The point of a Man Cave is for men to feel in their element when in it. One easy way to do this is to fill the room with items that describe that person. The poker player will possibly want a card table and chairs set up to play during the game. The ultimate Man Cave is self-contained. There should be a well-stocked fridge within reaching distance, and in turn, a bathroom isn't a bad idea either. Also, when entering a Man Cave, always close the door on the way in. There is nothing worse than kids seeing their dads acting like children.
Once the room is chosen, the interior decorating comes next. Paint the walls, add some throw rugs, cover the windows. The most masculine window treatment need not be wood blinds. Any solid color or patterned fabric with a manly print can do. Ideas for manly prints can be: golf clubs, mallard ducks, baseball bats, sports balls, and the like.
Whether the men in the house want a spot to watch sports, play pool, or just sit around and socialize, a space made especially for them makes them feel like kings.
