How To Clean Vinyl Mini Blinds

Mini blinds will attract dust, dirt, pollen, hair, grease and even bugs. Mini, Faux and Vertical blinds should all be cleaned on a weekly basis by dusting them with a dust rag or feather duster. Eventually, a light dusting will not remove all of the dirt and grime so the blinds will need a more thorough cleaning.

A good way to start is by opening the blinds while they are still hanging and use your vacuum's soft brush attachment. Vacuum each slat. Next close the blinds and remove from the brackets. Lay out your blinds on a padded, flat area. Use mild soap and water (warm, not hot) to soap thoroughly and then rinse gently. Glass cleaner or diluted pine cleaner are ok to use. Now either turn the blind over or open it the opposite way and soap and rinse the other side. It is important to allow your mini blinds to dry completely before you hang them back up. Tip: use clean water to rinse to help prevent water spots.
