A Box Pleated valance (non-scalloped) is characterized by a straight bottom hem and a single fabric selection and are board mounted. This valance uses a series of evenly spaced face pleats. The number of pleats and the pleat size will vary depending on the valance width. The side and bottom hems are pillow-cased. Returns are wrapped with a pleat. The seams are hidden behind the folds. Welting and banding are available options.
As a result of the board mounting, the fabric colors and patterns can be featured in various ways (e.g., centering a pattern in each pleat), which is not possible with a pleated valance.
Various details can be added to this standard valance to change the look without changing the yardage requirements. One such detail is folding the pleat back and adding a button detail to secure the fold. The box pleated valance is a versatile style valance that can be easily adapted for various looks.
Trim – When calculating the trim for this type of treatment, adjust the fullness to 3 times and calculate as a standard box pleat balloon valance.
Be aware that banding at the hem of a box pleated valance causes the pleat to billow out.

Measurement Tips
• Face Width – Measured from end of board to end of board (face of treatment).
• Finished Length – Measured from the top of the mounting board to the bottom of the hem.
