| A Murphy Valance is made up of a series of swags, cascades, and jabots. This style of swag valance has a header, which can be flat or shirred. The header is completed with a prefabricated or self-cord mounted 1" to 3" down from top of board. This type of valance requires a vertical face board where the finish cord can be mounted.
Yardage for a Murphy Valance is calculated in parts, i.e.: number of swags, cascades, and jabots required for the design.
Lining - When specifying a Murphy Valance, the swag part of this valance can be lined with regular house lining. However, you should either self-line or contrast-line the jabots and cascades.
Measurement Tips
• Face Width – Measured from end of board to end of board.
• Finished Length –
1. Swag – Measured from top of board to bottom of swoop
2. Cascade – Measured from top of header to longest point. Always specify short point.
3. Jabot Measured from top of header to longest point. Always specify short point.
