Cloud Shade

A Cloud Shade can be made with an invert pleated, a shirred, or a smocked top. All of these style shades require three times fullness across the width of the shade. A 3/8" covered metal rod is in the bottom of the shade hem to provide stability. Fabric wraps the returns. Swoops are spaced equidistant across the face width. The shade when fully extended vertically has a permanent fixed pouf at the bottom. Lightweight fabrics with some body and crispness are recommended.

A Cloud Shade can be specified with a ruffle that will extend above the board that holds the shade. The board can have as large a return as your particular treatment may need. When the shade is drawn up, the pouf as it stacks on the bottom, becomes greater and has a tendency to curl back towards the window.
Fabric shades can have a continuous cord system to raise and lower the shade at various heights. This system is typically an add-on to the cost of fabricating the shade.
Measurement Tips
• Width – Measure the width of the window and add a minimum of 1" additional. The shade board will be exactly the width specified. Do not include returns.
• Length – Measure a minimum of 2" above the window on an outside mount to allow for the bracket to clear the window frame. The length should always take in account the long point and the short point for the finished length.
