| A window treatment that covers only the bottom half of a window. A cafe rod is most often hung at the halfway point of the window, at sash level. When calculating yardage on a cafe curtain, you must determine the fullness you will need to create the treatment. If the top is to have French pleats, smocked or rod pocket style calculate the fullness at 3 times. A decorative rod is usually is the more attractive option when open. If you are specifying ties, you must add additional yardage for the number of ties required. If your design requires sash ties you will need 1 yard of fabric for 28 – 18" ties.
