Empire Swag Valance

An Empire top treatment is a group of swags, cascades and jabots. To compute yardage for this treatment, the treatment is divided into pieces and the yardage is computed for each piece separately.

If cascades and jabots are contrast-lined or self-lined you will need to order an equal amount of liner fabric as face fabric. The swoops are typically lined using house lining.

The Empire swag is typically fabricated with the vertical folds of the swag attached to a vertical leg similar to the Westlake swag. When specifying this look, always consider the vertical legs on each end of the valance making sure you allow for clearance of the window frame or under treatment.

Measurement Tips
• Face Width – Measured from end of board to end of board. Do not include returns.
• Finished Length
Swag - Measured from the top of the mounting board to the long point of the swag.
Jabot – Measured from the top of the mounting board to the longest point of the jabot. Always specify the short point as part of the design.
Cascade - Measured from the top of the mounting board to the longest point of the cascade. Always specify the short point as part of the design
