- What is Passementerie?
- Passementerie, or fancy trims and edgings, is all about adding some extra pizzazz to your project. It can be made with braid, shiny cords, embroidery, tassels, or beads to give things a fancy touch. The French really know how to make things look fancy with passementerie! In other words, it is the French word for trimmings.
- What is a put up?
- The number of yards on the spool. Trims produced by the yard are typically manufacturing in runs of 27 yards.
- What is the difference between cord and lipcord?
- A lipcord will include a small border of fabric that can be inserted and sewn into a pillow or other item while a cord without a lip must be applied.
