Classic Paisley Fabric
Paisley is usually used to describe a design developed for use on fine wool shawls made in Paisley, Scotland. The shawls were originally woven to imitate the woven shawls of Kashmir which had a cone design. The woven shawls proved too expensive to produce and the design was adapted for printing. The Paisley design itself changed to the scroll like form it now has. Paisleys, both large and small, are almost never out of fashion and may be knitted into fabrics, woven into, or more usually, printed on fabrics. The paisley fabrics offered here feature over 1000 choices of drapery, bedding and upholstery fabrics that range in theme from a classic traditional paisley to modern and contemporary paisley fabrics. The wide range of patterns offered are from a combination of manufacturers in printed and woven paisley fabric that features a wide variation of designs and color combinations.
